Adobe Illustrator now supports pixel art!

Two years ago I posted a tutorial by Ryan Boyle on using Adobe Illustrator, a vector illustration tool, to create pixel art.
Now with the release of Illustrator CC 2017, pixel artists can do so with long awaited native tools!

Utilizing the new ‘Snap to Pixel’ option, pixel artists can easily create a range of vector based pixel art which can be scaled and printed with no degradation to quality or crispness.

Of course, this could essentially be done in Photoshop already. Check out my other tutorial for more info.

I havent tried it yet but theoretically with the correct setup you could use Illustrator’s existing ‘Image Trace’ tool to convert your pixel art into vector art for things such as print and marketing assets.
