The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation

After the overwhelming popularity of my last post I thought I should post this resource as well. I was introduced to me by Dan Lance in response to my tweet about The Animator’s Survival Guide Animated.
It has been around for a while (since 1995) and again I feel like I’m missing the bandwagon, but a good resource is a good resource nevertheless!

It’s a book called The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas, two of the animation masters at Disney during the Golden Age of animation.

I haven’t read it yet but I intend on getting a copy while there are still some floating around.
You can see a literally flick-through of the book in the video below. It’s chock full of content and looks well worth a read. There’s a good review of the book as well for those considering buying it.
